Since 2001, FOR THIS CAUSE, Inc. has been working to reduce the breast cancer mortality and incidence rate in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. With a free mammogram program (provided by a grant from Safeway, Inc.) and innovative community events, such as its Annual Breast Cancer Event and Community Day, National Women's Health Week Event, and TAKE THE CHALLENGE Program, FOR THIS CAUSE, Inc. is raising awareness of breast cancer and its associated issues; bridging the gap between the community, health professionals and researchers; and encouraging women to proactively take steps to improve their overall health and well being.
